Released October 5, 2026 — downloads for this release
This release contains foundational work for distributing QuickMail through winget and the Microsoft Store, which had to be in place before either can move forward. Nothing changes in how you install or update QuickMail today.
This only affected anyone who ran a newer QuickMail installer (the
.msi) over a copy that was already installed. Updates
QuickMail installs by itself were never affected.
In that case the installer briefly treated the upgrade as an uninstall: it could ask whether to delete your QuickMail data, and it turned off Start QuickMail automatically when I sign in to Windows. Now it recognises the upgrade, asks nothing, and keeps your start-at-sign-in setting. Uninstalling QuickMail still asks about your data as before.
The copy being replaced is the one that makes this check, so it applies from 0.8.53 on. If you run the 0.8.53 installer over an older copy and it asks about your data, choose No. (#245)
