Flags mark messages for follow-up.
The built-in flag is the standard one your mail server already understands, so setting or clearing it in QuickMail shows up in every other mail program you use, and a message flagged elsewhere arrives in QuickMail already flagged. Named flags you create yourself are stored on this computer only — the name and color mean nothing to the server, so another program will not see them, and neither will QuickMail on a second computer. Press K to toggle the default flag on the selected message. Press K again to clear it. A screen reader announces the result: “Flagged: Urgent.” or “Unflagged.”
In Conversations, From, or To view, pressing K on a group row flags every message in the group.
Press Ctrl+Shift+K to open the flag picker. Arrow to a flag and press Enter to apply it. A Clear flag option at the bottom removes the current flag.
Open the Flag Manager from the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P → Manage Flags). You can create up to 20 named flags, each with an optional color. Use Set as K default to make any flag the one that K applies.
Open the View menu or the filter combo box and choose Flagged to see only flagged messages in the current folder.
The All Flagged Mail virtual folder in the folder tree aggregates flagged messages across all accounts.
By default the flag name comes first when you navigate to a flagged message — for example, “Urgent. Unread. Kelly Ford. Budget deadline.” This makes it immediately clear a message needs attention.
The flag is one of the pieces a row speaks, so where it falls — and whether it is spoken at all — is yours to set in View → Message List Fields…. Turn the Flag field off to leave it out, or move it later in the line to hear the sender first. See Message List Fields. (There was previously an Announce flag status checkbox in Settings; it has been replaced by the Flag field in that window. If you had it turned off, the Flag field starts out turned off to match.)
